Economic Development 101 presented by the North Florida Economic Development Partnership
The North Florida Economic Development Academy (EDA) is designed to provide a basic understanding of the concepts and methods of Economic Development, and to help local communities build stronger community sales teams who are better able to recognize, prepare for, and respond to opportunities.
Participants will walk away with an understanding of the rules and roles that guide the development process, ethical considerations, and critical best practices. The EDA adds valuable information to the Developer’s Toolkit as it helps volunteers build on existing skills to enable a more critical approach to problem-solving, project development, community development, and team building – all necessary components for sustainable, vibrant communities.
The EDA, recognizing that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to economic development, offers sound development principles, encourages team building, and offers helpful ideas on how to prepare, so when an opportunity arrives, you are ready.
