Export Sales missions of this kind can help small and medium-sized companies throughout the state to establish and build relationships with buyers in one of the fastest growing markets for Florida products,” said Manny Mencía, senior vice president of Enterprise Florida’s International Business division. “The Dominican Republic is the largest market for Florida among the DR-CAFTA Free Trade Agreement nations.”
The mission will offer customized, one-to-one appointments with companies in the Dominican Republic, which in 2009 was Florida’s sixth largest trading partner, with the value imports and exports totaling higher than $4 billion. Also, from January through August of this year, the volume of Florida-origin exports there are more than 23 percent higher than in the same period of 2009.
The agenda also includes a briefing on business opportunities in Haiti by the U.S. Commercial Service and Haitian organizations that are leading the nation’s reconstruction efforts.
