Deal of the Year

 

FEDC Deal of the Year Awards will be given annually to recognize the outstanding deal from a rural community, urban community, and regional cooperative (multi-county) area.

Fee: the fee is $119 per submission.


In addition, an award may be given in an open category that does not recognize community type.

Criteria:
Deals of the Year – Recognizes outstanding achievement in the location/expansion of business in the state of Florida that meets community economic development goals and involves significant community program support, such as financial or permitting assistance, workforce development, state financial support, etc.
I. Rural – a county, community, or area – as defined by the state of Florida
II. Urban – Any non-rural county, community, or area
III. Regional – Any multi-county initiative

Eligibility:
Any economic development organization employing a current member of FEDC is eligible to enter a deal for consideration that has been announced within the current or previous organization fiscal year.

Nomination Process:
Members of FEDC, interested persons or an organization may submit nominations. The application should include the entry form, supplemental information, and photographs. The judges may request additional information from the nominating organization as required.

Judging Criteria:
Awards will be evaluated based on two primary criteria:

  • Economic impact
  • Degree of expertise needed to create the deal

The judges will determine the community size for purposes of making this award.

Awards Ceremony:
The Deals of the Year Awards will be presented at the FEDC Foundation Annual Conference.
