The Economic Development Manager is responsible for various workforce services and business development activities supporting talent development for local industry needs, specifically designing, implementing, and managing programs and strategies that attract, retain, and develop the talent pool in Pinellas County for target industry employers.  This position will create and implement policies, procedures, and specific activities related to the development of a diverse workforce to support the growth and retention of talent.  

Individual duties for this position include researching, developing, and coordinating strategies to support collaborative county-wide workforce initiatives.  The business development tasks include regular interaction with existing target industry employers, educational institutions, workforce providers, compiling and analyzing workforce data and trends.

This position entails the exercise of extensive initiative and independent judgement. Incumbents should be mission-driven with demonstrated passion for the organization’s overall mission and vision and be capable of operating effectively in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
