SRA International, a government contractor focused on national security, officially opened a new regional office in Tampa on Tuesday with the pledge to create 60 to 80 high-paying jobs over the next year.
Economic development leaders called the project an example of the critical role played by MacDill Air Force base in attracting high-level security, IT and government contractor jobs to Tampa. A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held Tuesday at the company’s new office at MetWest International on 4030 Boy Scout Boulevard.
Rhea Law, chair of the Tampa Hillsborough Economic Development Corp., said her group has been working on the project with the Governor’s Office of Tourism, Trade and Economic Development, Enterprise Florida, Hillsborough County and the city of Tampa since June.
“It was a priority for all who were involved to close the project successfully for Tampa,” Law said.
Based in Fairfax, Va., SRA has more than 7,000 employees in more than 50 locations around the world.
